About the Health Council of Canada
Canada's Prime Minister and the provincial and territorial premiers established the Health Council of Canada and later enhanced our role through two agreements referred to as "the Accords" - the 2003 First Ministers' Accord on Health Care Renewal, and the 2004 10-Year Plan to Strengthen Health Care. The ministers of health in the 12 jurisdictions that signed the Accords are the Health Council's "corporate members."

Funded by Health Canada, we are an independent, non-profit organization.

Our vision
A leading voice that informs and strengthens Canada's health system.

Our mission
To report on the renewal of Canada's health system, focusing on best practices and innovation.

From October 10 to 13, the Canadian Diabetes Association/Canadian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism will hold its 15th annual conference at the Vancouver Convention Centre to share solutions and innovations on the road to a cure to diabetes.

More information on the conference and the Canadian Diabetes Association can be found in our Social Media Newsroom here: http://goo.gl/63fKp .
